Post No. 30

March 20, 2010

More a tweet than a post.

I was leafing through The God Delusion, collecting evidence 🙂 when I came across a section entitled If there is no God, why be good?

Before they invented television, no one asked “What’s on telly tonight?”  It may have escaped Dawkins’s notice that there is no good without God, or God is goodness (among other virtues we attribute to God by dint of our limited understanding of his nature). So it’s a nonsensical question, really, despite being syntactically correct.

Nose back to the grindstone.
